Snowmelt expansion and liability changes loom in Holland
Holland City Council approved a special assessment to expand the snowmelt system along 10th Street including frontage outside Pillar Church and 246 River Ave. Owners cover 50 percent of costs, with condo units at 17 W. 10th St. included. The move tees up southward expansion. The council also approved a higher liability insurance contract, raising the deductible from 100k to 250k to curb costs amid national market pressures, while noting a 13.7 percent overall cost rise. Mayor issued Juneteenth proclamation as festival set for June 19 at Kellen Park with events and marketplace.
