Evelyn Hanko Holland dies at 97 in Holland Michigan
Evelyn Hanko Holland formerly Koster died June 7 2021 aged 97 in Holland Michigan. She was born June 11 1923 in Chicago to Nick and Kate Koster youngest of three daughters. A lab technician and longtime Christ Memorial Church member she married Al Hanko in 1948 and had four children ten grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. A Celebration of Evelyn's life was held June 12 2021 at Langel and Sterenberg Funeral Home, with visitation at 10:00 am. Memorials may go to Camp Geneva or Spectrum Health Hospice. Burial in Graafschap Cemetery.

Anonymous donation to WMU sets national record
Western Michigan University will announce a $550 million gift from an anonymous alumnus, the largest single donation to any public university. Over ten years the funds will go to three pots: $300 million for the Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine, $200 million for need based aid and initiatives, and $50 million for athletics.
