Whitmer signs Michigan e cigarette ban for minors
Governor Gretchen Whitmer reluctantly signed a bill banning e cigarette sales to and use by minors set to take effect in September. She cited public health concerns and proposed raising the age to 21 and restricting online sales while noting internal opposition over potential conflicts with federal rules. The legislation, passed by a Republican led Legislature, responds to youth vaping with support from health groups and pediatricians seeking broader tobacco controls.
