Proposals range for woods property in Holland

Four sealed bids were submitted by June 3 for the 3.7 acre site at 285 West 36th Street. Opened by Finance Director Tim Vagle, the proposals include a no development option to create a bird sanctuary and a 2027 unit housing plan by Third Coast Homes led by Don Wilkinson and Scott Grose. The process, sparked by the April 17 surplus declaration, drew about 20 attendees and neighborhood signs urging preservation. Proposals will be reviewed by staff and discussed at the June 26 study session, with potential incentives such as a neighborhood enterprise zone and up to 50 thousand dollars in community grants.
