Allegan man conviction for meth and marijuana upheld
The Michigan Court of Appeals affirmed the Allegan County man Carlos David Bermudez 39 year old on methamphetamine and marijuana possession convictions from a December 2015 offense. He received 10 months in jail for meth and 76 days for marijuana plus a three year probation term. The appeal argued insufficient evidence but the court upheld the verdict stating the jury weighed the evidence. Police stopped the vehicle and a jar of marijuana was found after Bermudez admitted passing it to a back seat passenger. A bottle cap with white residue tested positive for methamphetamine and fibers found on Bermudez supported the conviction.
