Hollander Japinga loses Jeopardy fifth run
Hollander Mark Japinga saw his Jeopardy winning streak end on Wednesday with a wrong Final Jeopardy answer. He will take home 113600 from the run, plans for a possible trip to Brazil for the World Cup, and may consider graduate school. Japinga, a 2005 Holland High alum now living in Washington, D.C., works as a legislative researcher.

Motorcycle crash in Allegan County injures two
A 47-year-old Holland man and a 38-year-old Ludington woman were hospitalized with head injuries after a southbound U S 131 passing attempt near Wayland ended in a crash. Both victims were transported to Burgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. Names were not released. The sheriff and local departments assisted.

Hope College hosts parents at CASA summer lesson
Parents and children visited Graves Hall for CASA summer program day at Hope College. CASA serves at risk K–5 students from Holland and West Ottawa with five sessions weekly, mixing academics and enrichment.
