GVSU and Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital expand their 11 year partnership to share a gait and motion analysis lab at Grand Valley State University’s Cook-DeVos Center for Health Sciences. The joint effort supports nursing and therapy students and enhances patient walking studies.

Solar array installed at Outdoor Discovery Center in fall
A 19.72 kW solar array was installed at the Outdoor Discovery Center in partnership with Helios to power the Visitors Center and support CDC sustainability goals. The system sits beside the wind turbine from 2004 and complements solar LEDs lighting parking. Since installation it has saved nearly 6,000 pounds of CO2, reflecting West Michigan's shift toward solar energy. Dan Callam, Greenway Manager, notes hopes for solar panels becoming a normal sight.

Michigan awards 2.5 million in FIRST Robotics grants
The Michigan Department of Education distributed 2.5 million dollars to FIRST Robotics teams across the state. About 2.3 million went to 423 public schools and 157,700 to 39 non public schools. Grants range from 100 to 9,000 to grow teams and build STEM pathways.
