Holland court remands parking ordinance case to circuit court

Michigan Court of Appeals sends back the Holland parking rule dispute to circuit court to determine justification for differential treatment of Hope College rental properties in the education zone versus other residential areas. The six vehicle limit faced challenges by MCBA Properties and VBH Properties, who say tenants should park freely. The original 2012 ordinance caps at six vehicles per property, though Hope College properties house more tenants. the case traces to a 2016 filed suit and ongoing argument over zoning overlays and neighborhood impact.
