Flint Joins 641 Million Deal Over Lead Water Lawsuits
The Flint City Council approved its portion of a 641 million settlement with residents harmed by lead in drinking water. The state contributes about 600 million, with the city insurer adding 20 million. The deal targets decades of mismanagement tied to Flint River water use in 2014 15. The agreement still requires federal court approval and scrutiny of the claims process.
