Michigan approves A to F grades for public schools
Michigan lawmakers narrow passage of a statewide A to F accountability plan to begin in 2019. The measure, amid opposition from Democrats and education groups, would rank schools in five categories while not giving a single cumulative grade. Interim Superintendent Sheila Alles warns it may conflict with federal law and ESSA, potentially creating dual systems.
