Food as medicine initiative feeds diabetes patients at Ohio clinic
Esther Caicedo collected four grocery bags of produce and canned goods at Ohio Health Riverside Family Practice in Columbus as part of the Food is Health program. With Ohio University medical student Max Farenwald, she joins about 50 patients receiving weekly free produce, funded by a $6 per person weekly food budget and hospital support, aimed at diabetes nutrition education and access.
