At a regular Liberty Chapter meeting the Order of the Eastern Star elected Mrs Esther Henning as Worthy Matron and Sidney Sapp as Worthy Patron along with other officers for a one year term. The group also installed officers with luncheon served afterward. In a separate note Judge Sapp granted a temporary injunction against Woodruff Irrigation Company delaying further stock assessments until a hearing set for December 13. Churches Reopen Services In Holbrook After Epidemic

Apache hunter brings in mountain lion pelt
Last Tuesday an Apache Indian brought into town the pelt of a large mountain lion killed in the southern county mountains. The lion had slain three horses and may have killed more stock, prompting the Board of Supervisors to offer 10 for pelts as such predators threaten local ranchers. trapping and killing a lion brings rejoicing among nearby stockowners.

New Bank Cashier Takes Charge at St Johns State Bank

Death of Sergeant David M Rosenwald reported
Mrs. Wetzler received notice of her nephew Sergeant David M Rosenwald’s death at Camp Cady Deming NM from pneumonia following influenza. Rosenwald, from Albuquerque, will be interred there after his body is brought home. Mrs. Wetzler departed to attend the funeral.
