Western Union Adds Hours and New Assistant in Hobbs

A. A. Gargan district commercial manager of Western Union visited Hobbs Monday and announced changes in operations. Public hours are extended to 7 30 a m to 9 p m daily with Sunday 8 10 a m and 4 6 p m. Mrs Bess Harrison becomes assistant as the office adds staff while business improves continually.

Pecos Pioneer Visits Hobbs After Long Gap

B A Oden of Pecos stopped in Hobbs on Tuesday marking a long interval since his 1884 visit. He recalled three settlers then between the Colorado River and Pecos, two buffalo hunters at Monument. Oden, who settled at the San Simon ranch site and lived nine years, toured the area with guide Jack Heard.

Woman found on Eunice road badly injured near Carlsbad

Seven new locations were staked in the Eddy and Lea county districts with several completions showing strong gas and oil flow. Wells include Shepherd 2-B for Texas Company and Atlantic-Kirby Wook worth No 1 among others. Notable completions: Repollo State No 1 flowed 10,000,000 feet of gas after reaching 3940 feet, Tidewater Foster No 2 opened at 3906 feet producing 2397 barrels daily plus gas. Ogg No 1 Texas Co. was shut for repairs at 3156 feet, with others in progress in Etz Hammond Keyes and Skelly prospects.
