The Lea county Young Democrats held a monster gathering at the school study hall on Monday night drawing at least 300 attendees from Lovington Jal Tatum and other towns. Speakers included attorney Tom Whalen of Lovington and J R Storm of Tatum with election of county officers and plans for state league visitors October 23 to 26.
The Roger Oil Company will start drilling its No. 1 test in McKinley County in the northwest San Juan Basin on the Walker Dome. The site sits on Santa Fe lands in northeast quarter of section 14, offsetting the Midwest discovery well in section 13. This is near where the Walker-Dome Oil Camp drilled in 1930.
