Sheriff Bond Debate and County Acts in East Hawaii
The East Hawaii Board of Supervisors debated the sheriff bond for Keolanui amid questions over multi sureties. District Attorney Smith advised that any number of sureties totaling the bond amount are valid, while Desha and Makekau urged stricter scrutiny. The sheriff elect withdrew the bond and a new conforming form was requested.
