A check for 5355, drawn by ten industries, was given to Township Committee member Henry Goldhor, chair of the Community Welfare Council of Eastern Union County. Harry A Cooper and James A Oneil of Hillside Industrial Association presented the funds as the foundation’s first major donation to a specific agency. The foundation can donate per member gifts or accumulated funds for a project, and previously gave 3000 last May for recreation equipment.

William Dierolf Sr of the Police Department Detective Bureau received the first annual merit award from the Honorary PBA at the 25th Hillside Local 70 ball in Newark.
