Retiring Hillside High Principal Railey Custer Honored
Two hundred fifty people paid tribute Sunday evening at Hotel Suburban as Hillside High principal Railey Custer received a Service Above Self award for five years guiding Hillside students. UNICO and Hillside groups presented a scholarship, a perpetual $500 Hillside Scholarship Fund gift, a wrist watch, and a plaque. Presenters included Jack Valent and Conrad Cammarato Ruhl, with remarks by Dr. Wayne Branom and Rev. Edson Leach.

Little League volunteers sought for evening refreshment stand

Hillside Memorial Day Parade Plans Announced
Hillside marks its 50th anniversary with a Memorial Day parade on Thursday May 30 starting at 10 a.m. Walter Howell as Grand Marshal announced the lineup. Units meet by 9 a.m. and parking occurs on Livingston Road. Police escort will guide units from Route 1 via North and Westminster Avenues to the High School yard.
