Homeowners Group Plans Hearing On Millside Ave Apartment
Hillside Home Owners Action Association executive committee outlined its case against a proposed apartment building on Millside Ave at Boa Fl. A public hearing before the Township Committee is set for Tuesday May 21 in the Municipal Building at Spain. The Zoning Board has recommended a variance for Menza's Coal Co. Newark. Youth Faces New Charge Against Local Man Joseph Menza
Joseph P. Menza age 19 of 1412 Munn Aves pleaded guilty on November 29, 1962 to possession and sale of barbiturates. Police found nine secobarbital capsules in a Hillside Aves garage he rents, hidden under a hubcap. Detectives Mason De Prospo and Haines led the search. Menza denied the charge and awaits Grand Jury action on contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He previously received suspended jail terms and three years probation after a November magistrate ruling.

Hillside resident invites governor over air traffic issues
George J. Fischer, a metallurgist living five years in Conant Estates Hillside, asks Governor Hughes to visit his home to experience plane noise from Newark Airport during northwesterly winds. He warns of four engine jets and piston planes overhead at 1000 to 1500 feet, saying the pattern shifted in March 1962 and may force relocation to New York.

Peter Pagano an 18 year old of 529 Har yard Aves was arrested Tuesday on possession and sale of barbiturates after detectives found 213 seconal capsules in a dresser drawer. He was held on 1000 bail for Magistrates Court arraignment May 23. A 17 year old hillside boy was also arrested after a Monday night collision with Police Sgt. Leonard Visotsky’s car. four seconal capsules and drug paraphernalia were found in the youth’s car and he was held for juvenile authorities and charged with leaving the scene.
