Hillside community notes mix protests bids and hires
About sixty residents signed a protest to the Hillside PAL committee over the lack of a woman supervisor at the Hillside PAL building. PAL says the assistant director position held by Dorothy Groeger was abolished effective July 3, and she has filled in at the Court Clerk's office.

Mrs Stahnten Named To G W Principalship
Mrs Rose Stahnten of Millburn has been named principal of the George Washington School succeeding William Krautblatt who retires this month. She will continue as principal of Calvin Coolidge School. the two campuses share principals again. Stahnten is a Montclair State College graduate with a master's from NYU and further NYU credits.

Hillside Municipal Pool Announces New Special Programs
Hillside Municipal Pool will offer three special programs for members this year under manager Bob Shapiro. A day camp for members' children ages 5 to 10 returns, with new adult and teenage programs. The day camp, led by Miss Gloria Cordero, starts July 6 and runs Monday through Friday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Continued on page 8.
