Diamonds and cash stolen in driveway robbery at Skuratofsky home
Detectives investigate a Friday early morning home invasion at 126 North Ave. Mrs and Mr Skuratofsky say two or three masked men using pistols bound them with tape and stole $760, a seven carat diamond ring, wedding ring, cufflinks, and earrings. The family's son and two grandchildren were present. police responded at 1:15 a.m. with detectives in charge.

Multiple locations including Coe Avenue George Washington Harden Looker and Bristol-Myers will be supervised 9 a.m. to dusk, Monday through Friday. Other sites offer varied hours with daily supervision at Central Avenue near the Roche pool and Hillside High School tennis courts open 9 a.m. to dusk weekdays and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends.

Three hundred twenty Hillside High School seniors received diplomas in the fortieth sixth annual commencement at Woodfield Stadium. Anthony Innelli aged 26 of 51 Ellen Street Union was released on 400 bail after being charged with possession of drugs and being under the influence. He received a summons for driving while intoxicated after patrolmen Vogel and Van Dean found him in a stupor at Bloy and Leo Streets. Dr. Joseph Peyser examined him and noted drug influence. pills and cough syrup were in the car.

Goldhor Lights Elks Flag for All Night Illumination
Hillside Lodge Elks 159 lit their flagpole as part of Play Day services. Henry Goldhor donated four electric lights with automatic sunset to sunrise operation, presented to Joseph Castellucio. The flag will be the township’s only illuminated flag through the night. The program included Jerry Padovano vocal selections and a flag history by Andrew E. Karlick with a response by John V. Redling, with Emma Vroom at the piano.
