Rutgers University grants degrees to 21 graduates

Twenty one Hillside residents received degrees at Rutgers University commencement in New Brunswick. Men Colleges awarded B S and A B degrees to listed individuals, Newark Colleges awarded LL B MBA and AB degrees to named graduates, University College issued B S AB and BS degrees, and Elaine Herz earned a specialized certificate from the Newark extension center.

Three Injured In Auto Collision At City Intersection

Three persons were injured in a two car crash at the North and Westminster intersection Sunday night. Mrs. Margaret Sanko, 159 Baltimore avenue, was taken to Newark Beth Israel Hospital after being ejected. Her son William, 20, sustained head and arm lacerations and was treated by township physician Dr. Joseph Peyser. Cornelis ONeill, 49, 615 Wyoming avenue Elizabeth, also reported head injuries and was issued a summons for running a red light.

Immaculate Conception Church Planned in Newark Area

Rev Myron Sozanski named pastor of a new Ukrainian Catholic church to be built at Liberty avenue and Bloy street in Newark. The Immaculate Conception Church will cost about $10 000 with Sozanski as building fund chairman. He was ordained in 1946 in Newark after studies at Redeemerist Seminary Yorkton Saskatchewan.

Hillside adopts cat control ordinance amidst safety debates
