Blizzard Fails to Halt Local Education Board Meeting

Police Chief Voelk ferried Township Clerk Dischler and Public Affairs Commissioner Menza while another car picked up Assistant Township Clerk Trubenbach. The only spectators were Capt. Helock's family witnessing the badge ceremony for Lt. James Late Share.

Hillsiders face first hint of 1967 tax hike

Mayor Carmen J. Ferrigno announced at the Hillside Rotary Club meeting that Hillside will likely approve a 1967 municipal budget with a tax increase. The plan, due to be introduced February 21, follows earlier notes that state aid shortfalls require up to nine points more for the township.
