Mrs. Wianecki died when a station wagon struck a concrete traffic light stanchion at Broad and Poimer in Newark. Witnesses say the car sped south on Broad and swerved before impact. headlights were reported off earlier at Broad and Wright. She leaves two sons, ages 12 and 7. the vehicle belonged to her husband Louis.
More than 160 persons attended the Hillside PAL first annual card party at the PAL and Youth Center Building. Chairman William H. Buie welcomed guests and said proceeds will buy equipment and maintain the building. He urged attendance at a free organ concert by Miss Betty Anne Krell of Union Hill Dover at 6 p.m. Sunday, December 11. The board of directors meets at 8 p.m. Wednesday to discuss fundraising to complete payment of the building.

Mr. John Domarecki of Irvington received a 700 dollar Bristol-Myers suggestion award for a proposal to reduce the height of protective liners in Vitalis packing. The plan shares 25 percent of annual savings with the innovator, and this award is noted as the largest for 1960 reflecting strong employee cooperation.
The Pingry School marks its centennial with three convocation events beginning December 3. Topics include The Future of American Education and Strengthening Financial Support to Independent Education. A May 6 reunion closes the series with invites extended to state education leaders and district officials.

Sinai Congregation announced the start of a multifaceted youth program led by Morris Jaffe and Kenneth Lewitter. The schedule targets children ages 8 to 16 with religious cultural and recreational activities at the Sinai Hebrew School and Youth Center on Sundays and weekday afternoons.
Preparations for a mid December opening of a Fine Arts Center at 1484 North Broadstreet reveal plans for music art and charm schools plus artist exhibitions. The center will be leased by Leslie Philcox from Depp Construction and affiliated with the New Jersey Conservatory of Music. Anthony Joaquin an 18 year old of 1086 Broad Street Newark was jailed for five days on two counts reckless driving and driving without a license after police chased a stolen car through Hillside Avenue. Patrolmen Mariani and Werte pursued Joaquin who skidded into a tree at Chestnut Avenue after a high speed run from Maple and Hillside. The incident followed a flag down near the intersection.
Township committeeman elect Charles S. Mancuso announced he will resign from the Board of Education at the next regular meeting on Wednesday December 14. He said the move opens a vacancy for a one year unexpired term and gives candidates time to file petitions earlier.
