Education Board Denies Gym Shift

At a special meeting on Thursday night the Board of Education rejected the Millstream Manor Civic Association plan to relocate the high school gymnasium. The 720000 proposal would have moved the gym to the rear of the cafeteria, near Plymouth road, citing traffic concerns and property value depreciation as objections. The board stated access would remain via Plymouth road or Livingston road and that closing Livingston road would not affect traffic or the stop light at Liberty Avenue Conant Street.

The Millstream Manor Civic Association charged the Board of Education with inadequate consideration of a proposed relocation of a high school gym to avoid closing Livingston road.
