A 14 year old writer complains of grandmother cutting his hair and neighborhood teasing. Ann suggests the boy earn odd jobs to pay for a haircut and invites grandma for a lesson. Other letters discuss loan repayment plans, gifting, and a troubled boyfriend, with blunt but practical guidance.
The Furniture City Duplicate Club met at the Adams Memorial YWCA for a fractional point game. Winners listed: Miss Wilma Byerly and Mrs. Berlie Eargle first. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Daniels second. Mrs. John Catlin and Ernest Howell third. Mrs. Leon Schute and Mrs. Joe Spearman fourth. The next game is scheduled at 1108 N. Main St on Sept 23 from 8 to 11 p.m.
Colonial Country Club women and guests will hold a regular luncheon meeting and scotch foursome on Thursday. Hostesses are Mrs Wade Pierce and Mrs Darrell Welborn. Golf starts at 10 a.m. followed by a 1 p.m. luncheon. Reservations must be eee.
The Modern Study Club will meet Wednesday at 8 p.m. with Mrs. W R Peters at 822 Quaker Lane. Mrs. John Austin will be associate hostess.
The Trinity Archdale Home Demonstration Club will meet Thursday at 1 30 p m at Mrs Allen Garner’s home on Route 3 Co hosts are Mrs R J Burge and Mrs Roy Davis Demonstration by the county agent will cover selection of patterns and materials
