Few Carrying Big Tax Load in Archdale City

Archdale with about 5 200 residents has 75 taxpayers paying $100 or more annually. Mayor Henry York says these 75 carry the lion’s share of the city’s tax load as 1 867 abstracts show roughly 69 percent pay 1 cent to $50, 27 percent pay 0 to $100, and 4 percent pay $100 or more. The city, with limited business, collects about $80 000 yearly from taxes, and property at 27 cents per $100 yields around $3 000 per penny.
