Troops Gain More Control In Mozambique
In Lourenco Marques Portuguese troops moved to tighten control of the seaside capital as looting persisted in slums. Hundreds were flown in from central and northern Mozambique, with parts of the city sealed off after midnight. The military said the situation was calmer than Tuesday night. At Miguel Bombarda Hospital 21 civilians died and 29 more bodies were brought in since Tuesday, most of the dead being black.
