Doctor Indicates Patient Shock Bleeding Rare
Memphis AP report notesDr Robert Miles, inventor of the Miles clip used after Nixon phlebitis surgery, says postoperative hemorrhage is infrequent and patient shock is rare. He developed the vena caval clip at Baptist Memorial Hospital in 1962 after 2.5 years of research. Nixon reportedly had clots blocked behind the groin lining and experienced shock with uncontrolled internal bleeding.
