Swedish research sets daily safe alcohol amounts per body weight
A Karolinska Institutet expert says a 150 pound person can safely drink about nine ounces of beer daily for years. two thirds ounce of 100 proof whisky or similar amounts of fortified wine or table wine are given as safe levels. He warns alcohol can threaten health and that alcoholism should be avoided by limiting intake. infants of alcoholic mothers may suffer birth defects. guidelines urge monitoring drinking habits.

79 Year Old Retracing Canoe Trip in Mississippi
Dick Grant known as the Sea-Going Canoeist retraces a 6000 mile route from Chicago to New Orleans to Miami and back to Chicago. Now 79 he paddles 30 or 40 miles at a time then rides with his wife in a Lincoln Continental and travel trailer. Frost and frost warnings sweep North and South Carolina
National Weather Service forecasts frosty mornings in the Triad and western regions with frost tonight across North and South Carolina excluding coastal strips. Today will be sunny and cool, with highs 50s to low 60s in the southeast and 40s to 60s elsewhere, followed by clearing, cold nights and a chance of late-day rain Tuesday in the west. The three day outlook calls for mid 40s to 60s highs, cooling to 30s and 40s by Friday with clearing Thursday and fair Friday.
