Counties Get Flu Vaccine Distribution Begins Across NC

RALEIGH AP North Carolina distributes its first swine flu vaccine allotment to 100 counties with 300000 monovalent and 210000 bivalent doses. Vaccines will be picked up in Raleigh WinstonSalem Black Mountain Greenville Fayetteville and Shelby for adults 18 plus. The monovalent shot protects only against swine flu while the bivalent guards against swine flu and the A Victorian strain.

Mizell Refuses To Return Gift

Winston-Salem reporter notes Republican candidate Wilmer Mizell will not return a $10,000 campaign contribution unless the Federal Elections Commission rules it illegal. Common Cause filed a complaint alleging illegal large contributions from the AMA political arm and NC Medical Society. Mizell’s manager cites separate entities and says the money is legal if the FEC rules otherwise. Rep. Stephen L Neal, the November opponent, urged Mizell to return the funds.
