North Carolina Baptists plan a statewide push starting tomorrow to wrap up the 75 million campaign by November 30. Churches across 2,200 congregations aim to raise at least 400,000 next week to meet agency obligations, with 100,000 designated for the Thomasville orphanage as Thanksgiving offering. The drive, part of the Southern Baptist Unified Program, has seen about a million new members, 3,000 new churches, and broad growth over the five years. A statewide canvass for 1925 pledges is set for November 30 in participating churches.
A rural church system plans continued support for the Thomasville orphanage through a monthly Sunday school offering and a large yearly Thanksgiving offering from all churches. The message notes a projected increase in funds for next year, excluding the orphanage gifts already in place.
