Guilford College Plans 15 Percent Wage Increase
Guilford College will raise the minimum hourly wage for full time non academic employees from 1.40 to 1.65 effective June 1 with a second increase planned before February 1, 1970. About 75 staff in maintenance janitorial and foodservice will be affected and the raise will cost the college an estimated 46 000 per year. A $70 student fee increase will fund the raises and support intercollegiate athletics.

Conference Scheduled At High Point Pune Library
A storytellers conference for library volunteers takes place at High Point Pune Library on June 5 with both daytime and 7:30 p.m. sessions. County Planning Board to study trailer parks to tighten rules
Volunteers will visit day care centers and other children gathering spots to tell stories after the conference. The plan includes annual park inspections and expanded space at mobile home stands and playgrounds, with officials noting changes won’t affect existing parks.
