Apollo 10 Moon Run Ends As Crew Heads Home
Apollo 10 astronauts, Air Force Col. Thomas Stafford and Navy Cmdrs. John Young and Eugene Cernan, fired their engine at 6 25 am EDT to break lunar orbit and begin the 246 285 mile journey back to Earth. They expected a 54 hour trip, splashdown planned in the Pacific on Monday, as they shared views of the Moon and discussed July’s planned lunar landing.

Search Resumed For Stolen Plane
British and American fliers resumed the Atlantic search for a U S Air Force C1300 transport stolen from Mildenhall base near London by 23 year old technician Sgt Paul Meyer of Poquoson Virginia. Meyer reportedly got homesick and drunk before taking off in the 2.3 million aircraft. He radioed his wife at Langley Field saying not to leave the house as he planned to return. The Air Force believes he went down in the Atlantic after losing radar contact and a brief radio phone call was released.
