North Carolina Senate vote machines blocked in Brevard

Brevard Senator Charles Taylor criticizes the Legislative Services Commission for blocking electronic voting machine installation after the Senate approved them for 1975 and $80,000 was appropriated. He says the move would hinder roll call transparency and public understanding of General Assembly actions. The House had previously defeated electronic voting in 1974, and the commission barred bids. Taylor notes time savings on money matters and local bills. The piece also references the America's Cup origin and history.
