Wallace trails Nixon in Harris Survey presidential matchups
The Harris Survey finds Gov. George Wallace would trail President Nixon by 59 to 24 percent in a two-way race. In a Wallace McCarthy independent trio Wallace would win 21 percent to McCarthy’s 22 and Nixon’s 47. Wallace appears as a regional spoiler with limited cross-party viability.
