Large Imports and Prosperity at National Trade Meet
Dr Walter Lichenstein executive secretary of the First National Bank of Chicago told the ninth National Foreign Trade convention that large imports require large exports and that prosperity depends on trade. He argued against demanding Allied debts and warned against dumping, noting tariffs must balance imports and exports to avoid gold influx and price shifts. Sydney Cohen of New York was unanimously re elected president of the Moving Picture Theater Owners of America at its Washington convention.
