Welfare Director Named for Guilford County Services
Wayne Metz 30 of Contra Costa County California was approved Thursday by the Guilford County Social Services Board to become director. He has been assistant director in Contra Costa for about six and a half years and teaches public finance at Golden State University. Metz replaces L M Thompson who led the unit for 22 years before resigning. Ralph Sheppard of High Point has been serving as acting director.
