NATO Nuclear Force Pact Nears Signoff Amid West German Reservations

U S officials say an eight nation plan to form a NATO nuclear force using Polaris surface missiles could be ready for signing by Presidents Day. West Germany objected to surface ships. a joint, jointly owned force would include the United States Britain West Germany Italy Greece Turkey the Netherlands and Belgium with an estimated ten year cost of 5 billion dollars.
