Government Opens Case Against Sohah
The government plans to open its case against Steven Sohah in a bank robbery triad tied to Patricia Hearst. A jury of eight women and four men was selected to try Soliah, a 27 year old house painter, for an April 21 Crocker National Bank holdup in Carmichael that left a 42 year old customer dead. Prosecutors say he was not the triggerman, and federal officials note Hearst may have rented a car storage gauge but will not call her as a witness. Soliah was arrested September 18, same day Hearst was taken into custody in San Francisco, and he had been charged with harboring her. Hearst faces federal and state proceedings related to SLA incidents through mid-April.
