German forces move on Balogore on the Moscow Petrograd railroad. Balogore is a chief freight center for Petrograd feeding. The dispatch says the Germans aim to cut supplies to Petrograd and force capitulation by famine.

Washington reports no direct word on Ambassador Francis since his departure from Petrograd or arrival at Vologda with other ministers. Measles Claim Three Doss Children in Alabama

Three of four sons of Mr and Mrs Will Doss of Reads Gap Read's Gap Read's Gap died within seven hours and a fourth child died the next day from pneumonia after measles illness. The parents are also ill with measles. The report comes from Warrior Alabama. Obituary: Mrs. J. M. Franklin Died at Home

Mrs. J. M. Franklin died this morning at 9 at the home of her son Fd Franklin on West Russell Street after a prolonged illness. She was 73 and survived by four children Ernest Franklin Fatkranklin Charlie Franklin and Mrs. Hinkle of High Point.
