American woman honored by British for wartime service in Berlin

Miss Geraldine M. de Courcy of Mississippi, then in the U S legation passport department at Berne and Berlin, received a British silver loving cup for distinguished service to British prisoners in Germany. She was the only woman honored and the sole female allowed to visit Ruhleben camp to aid prisoners. She sustained 18 months of tireless work and accompanied Ambassador Gerard on many visits.
