Amsterdam June 18 The war is a clash of world views not a mere campaign. Emperor William spoke at his accession anniversary celebration at German headquarters declaring German principles of right freedom and morality must prevail or Anglo Saxon Mammon ideology will win. He said the Anglo Saxons seek world rule and cannot decide such a matter in days weeks or a year.
60 000 Germans are reported killed wounded or captured in the offensive between Montdidier and Noyon. Captain Andrew Tardieu, with Premier Clemenceau at the front, says the figure will make Ludendorff reflect. Mangin’s counter attacks halt the German advance toward Compiegne.
