Serving as officers of the Lay men's at Saint Mary's Episcopal for 1957 58 will be Fred Guerin president John Canine vice president Esker Amos secretary and Charles Kerns treasurer.
Peewee O Sees oe Bragg will address both morning and evening worship at East Lexington Avenue Church of Christ tomorrow. He and his family will move to Hi Point with the church until a fulltime minister is found.
Rev. R. O. McAlpin of Winston-Salem will lead a church revival at Bates Memorial Wesleyan Methodist Church in June 2016. A prayer service and a children's service are set for 7 p.m. each evening, with regular services starting at 7:30 p.m. A. H. Brewer will lead the singing.
The Rev. George Richman pastor of English Street Baptist Church and Piedmont Baptist Association will deliver the baccalaureate sermon at Pembroke State College on June 5.
Preparation Day on June 5 features a worship service rehearsal registration by departments a movie and refreshments. Sessions run June 6 7 and 10 14 for boys and girls aged 4 16 nursery open only to workers children. Department superintendents listed with names and music director H T Hartley Jr directs the program with pianist Mrs James Sears.
High school and college graduates will be special guests at Green Street Baptist Church tomorrow for a morning service. Dr. E. W. Price Jr. will deliver the sermon titled What Can We Expect From Life.

The United States plans a new approach to halt nuclear weapons tests by pairing an inspection system with an end to weapon manufacture. The plan, discussed at a White House meeting, aims to curb the arms race, prevent spread to other nations, and require non atomic nations to renounce nuclear production rights.
Raleigh 1957 session faces adjournment in a week as House and Senate Finance Committees reach a tax relief compromise. It trims relief for motion picture theatres and door-to-door dealers and drops relief for domestic insurers while intercity bus taxes stay disputed. She will enter a plea June 10, is free on 500 dollars bond, and public defender was appointed. She said she quit high school at 16 to marry, faced stress with family, and warned others not to imitate her act.
A legislative bill will be offered Monday in the General Assembly to enable the Greensboro High Point Airport Authority to cooperate with additional counties. Sen. C Arthur Kirkman said the measure clarifies authority to maintain and operate airports jointly with other counties or authorities. The move aims to advance Piedmont air service, with Guilford Forsyth ties not specified, and received unanimous support from local officials.

James Charleston 38 attacked at Mark Soo's Restaurant after demanding hotter sauce. He sprayed his meal, chased owner with a knife, and hurled chairs before Soo fired several shots from a pistol, sending Charleston into custody on assault and weapon charges.
