Memorial Day holiday weekend traffic deaths rose to 18 by yesterday noon from 6 p m Wednesday. Drownings reached 70 and other holiday accidents added 50, totaling 318 deaths with National Safety Council predicting about 405 fatalities for a nonholiday period.
