Guilford County Tax Notices Highlight Discount and Payments
Taxpayers can pay in August with a one percent discount already included on the last line of the notice. Payments may be mailed or made at the Guilford County tax department offices in the City-County Building in High Point or at the courthouse. The information sheet projects about 27 million dollars in property taxes this year, 44 percent of the total 61 million from all sources, with 16.2 million from federal and state aid, 10.8 million from other sources, 5 million in sales taxes and 1.9 million in revenue sharing funds. The Board of County Commissioners notes revenue sharing funds support school construction and have helped expand the school building program while covering Social Services costs without raising taxes.
