Per Acre Yields: Bread, Eggs, Meat and Textiles From Wheat and Corn
Agricultural Extension Service specialists show acre yields: wheat 34 bushels yielding about 2,380 loaves of bread per acre. corn 74 bushels yielding 17,020 eggs per acre and five 200-pound hogs. Milk from silage could reach 6,500 pounds per acre, about 15,000 eight-ounce glasses, or 7,800 glasses if only 40 percent of feed is home grown. Grass yields 600 pounds of beef gain (359-pound carcass), and cotton an acre yields about one bale with potential for thousands of garments and textiles.
