In a two day Miss Universe contest Sharon of Minden Louisiana won the Miss USA title and the Miss Universe crown. The 18 year old brunette stood 5 feet 7 inches and faced 43 competitors. Sharon plans to finish college and pursue television work, supported by her family in Louisiana.
