Dolphins Trainers Claim Dolphins Surpass Humans in Learning
Kay Campbell of Newton trains dolphins near Lincolnton in a six-pool school with Skippy and Dolly as star pupils. Ralph Quinlan, who runs the Lincoln County operation and several shows, says dolphins may be more intelligent than humans, possessing a communications network and superior sonar. Quinlan owns 12 dolphins at Lincoln and plans more. Campbell and other trainers were hired via ads. The animals require daily heated-water workouts and veterinary care for safety.
