Early High Point concerts recalled by community leaders
First officers Mrs. Tomlinson and Mrs. Amos recall performers from the association early days including Hoffmann Casadeus and the Jerusalem choir. Luminaries such as Grace Moore, Jerome Hines and Van Cliburn are remembered, with anecdotes of borrowed clothes and frugal beginnings. The group expanded to four seasonal concerts with a budget growing from 1300 to about 10000 dollars and a strong member drive led by Mrs. Gilbert Clinard and local hosts.
