Faith In God Sustained Mackle Family in Kidnap Case
Barbara Jane Mackle survived a half million dollar kidnapping after being buried alive in a coffin like box near Atlanta. Her father Robert Mackle credited faith in God for sustaining the family through the ordeal as federal agents pursued suspects including Gary Steven Krist and Ruth Lisemann-Schier. Krist, an escaped convict, was captured on Hog Island after ransom money and a suitcase were found, while Lisemann-Schier remained at large amid the investigation. Barbara, recovering in Miami, thanked prayers and supporters as authorities continued the probe into the elaborate plot and additional accomplices.
